The Rook is what appears to be the only existing model of Thinker dropship. Approximately 330 feet in length, it uses a signature Zero Point Energy reactor to propel itself at considerable speed. Rather than housing a large interior chamber like other dropships, the Rook keeps its cargo bound with magnetic field generators to open sides guarded only by light proctective electromagnetic fields. This allows the Rook to deploy its up to 12 Synth payload simultaneously, but offers the pilots little comfort in transit.
The Rook is lightly armed, using the tail end of its ZPE generator to project dangerous high-voltage arcs of electricity. The discharges are essentially excess power created by a momentary overdrive of the Zero-Point reactor, rather than a weaponization of the reaction itself. They are capable of causing heavy damage to Aerospacecraft and moderate damage to more heavily armored vehicles, but are not nearly potent enough to threaten another Dropship or larger vessel.
Rooks were first encountered in combat by Contractor Security Squadron Iota 4. Since then, they have been seen in increasing numbers moving throughout The Hills. It is worth noting that the Thinkers seem to have entirely reworked their main military force to be Transynth based, so it is unknown if the Rook is soon to be phased out or repurposed.
