President Michael Logan
A man of barely forty, President Michael Logan is the young, charismatic, and patriotic leader of the Keepers. He was elected in a stunning 68% landslide on a moderate platform, leaning left on social and economic aspects and far right on military and trade policies, especially useful during a time of questionable national security and economic uncertainty. This allowed him to easily trump his overbearingly conservative opponent, Councillor David Carson, who despite having an attractive security policy fell short with unchanged economics and regressive social ideas.
Though the military makes a strong point of staying out of politics, Fleet Admiral Nicholas Cain is a close friend of Logan’s, and, in a rare moment of media exposure after the election, told press agents that ‘they had elected the right man.’ Cain almost acts as an advisor to the President, a fact that many Councillors find disturbing but few are willing to complain about openly, due to the immense respect the Fleet Admiral commands. Though Logan faces a growing terrorist threat, a fact made even more painfully obvious by recent events, he has very few outspoken enemies and is respected by the vast majority of the population.
Recently, Logan has also made a point of making the members of Iota 4 feel welcome in even the innermost circles of politics, crediting all of them with saving his own life and going through great effort to make them feel like personal friends, a move some members of the Admiralty and the Council are less than pleased about.
